My favorite artist

My favorite artist has got to be Claude Monet. I know everyone says that he is their favorite, but he really is mine. He inspires me. I love his use of color. If you look at his paintings you can find the whole spectrum of color in them. I've learned a lot just from seeing his pictures. I've tried to do similar when using color. Of course mine aren't even close to his. His pictures just take my breath away at how beautiful they are. Here are a few samples of his, enjoy.....

A little about Me

Hello, My name is Sarah Penberthy. I decided to create this blog for two reasons. First, to let people know a little more about me. Second, to show off my art work. I'm not the greatest artist in the world. I've actually had teachers tell me to pick something different to do in life because I will never make it as an artist. Then there is my Husband, bless his heart, he says I'm good enough to sell them. I wouldn't go that far. I think he is just trying to be nice. Anyways, the main reason why I want to share my art is to let people see how I perseve the world. This is just for fun. I only draw as a hobbie. I've always loved art. I come from parents that are good artists. My mother use to do tole painting, and my father was just like me-a good sketcher. I guess it is in my blood. But I do have to thank my mother for supporting me and encouraging me to pursue my love for it. I started taking classes when I was 9 years old. I haven't done anything for the past 5 to 6 years because I had a baby. Now that my beautiful son, Gavin, is 4 years old I now have time to start it up again. I've only done a couple of things so far. But through out this whole blogging experience I would love to hear from you. Your thoughts and opinions. Feel free to say whatever, you can't hurt my feelings I've heard it all before. Just remember, I'm not doing this for a career, this is just for fun. But I will post some of my old stuff and my new stuff. I just hope you have fun with me sharing my passion.
